Following hot on the heels of the Hyundai Ioniq EV and PHEV, Hyundai Australia look set to take the Australian Electric vehicle market by storm with the release of the highly anticipated Hyundai Kona EV.

This will be the first real word compact all-electric SUV to hit the market with the excitement matched by the price tag and range.

The all-electric Hyundai Kona will be available with 39kWh & 69 kWh battery options, although no commitment has been made by Hyundai Australia as to which variant will land on our shores….the EVSE Team hope it’s the 69kWh version given it will be good for over 350km of real word driving which is nothing short of phenomenal especially at the predicted price tag of around the $50,000 mark. a 7 kW Hyundai charging station will provide 40km of range per hour of charge for both the Hyundai Ioniq and Hyundai Kona

Expect your Type 2 Mennekes Single Phase EO wallbox to charge your Hyundai Kona EV from 0-100% in around 6 hours, or 45 minutes if using the CCS2 connection at your local DC Fast charging station.

Hyundai Australia is making the boldest moves yet in the Australian market by releasing their Hyundai Ioniq EV and PHEV mid-2018. The Hyundai Ioniq is set to be in hot demand from drivers across Australia as well as many of Hyundai’s fleet customers. Many Fleet customers will utilise back to base Hyundai chargers to ensure they’re fully charged every day

Given electric vehicles can reduce fleet costs in a meaningful way, don’t be surprised to see hundreds of these Hyundai Ioniq EV’s silently whizzing around a town near you very soon. Contact EVSE for all your Hyundai charging accessories

Well done to Hyundai Australia on pushing the envelope and taking on the Electric vehicle market in a big way with the Ioniq and Kona even against the headwinds of the current federal governments lack of support for electric vehicles. With some hope, the release of the “affordable real-world EV’s” such as the Hyundai Ioniq, Hyundai Kona, Nissan Leaf and Tesla Model 3 can kick-start Australia into catch up mode to accelerate our EV uptake.
